Digit (cloud inventory and manufacturing software)

Digit is a cloud-based operations platform for manufacturers and distributors, providing tools to manage work from initial quotes through production, fulfillment, and shipping.

The system runs in a browser on any device, desktop or mobile, so teams on the shop floor, in warehouses, or across multiple sites can work in real time.

Fit for packaging, plastics and recycling

For companies handling resin, regrind, recycled plastics, packaging components, or multi-level assemblies, Digit’s lot tracking, BOM versioning, barcode workflows and warehouse structure can support accurate inventory control and production planning.

Digit Technology Inc. also offers intuitive mobile tools and scanning features to suit environments where teams frequently move materials or need documentation for recycled inputs or finished packaging.

Functional scope:

Commercial and order management

Digit helps teams create and send quotes, then convert them into sales orders. It can also bring orders in through its native integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, and other commerce platforms. Customers can track order progress through a built-in B2B portal. When orders are ready for billing, Digit syncs invoices and line items directly to QuickBooks Online.

Inventory and material control

The platform tracks raw materials, subassemblies, WIP, and finished goods. Users can manage simple quantities or use batch, lot, and serialized tracking (helpful for plastic recycling and packaging workflows that require traceability).

Digit also supports single and multi-level BOMs with version control, plus routings that outline each production step, associated work centers, and required tools.

For physical space management, users can design barcode labels, organize stock across multiple warehouses and bin locations, and move or count materials by scanning. Warehouse teams can receive materials, capture lot or expiry details, upload photos or certifications, and print labels directly from a mobile device.

Material planning

Digit offers aggregated and time-based material planning views. These help teams see demand and shortages, generate purchase orders or manufacturing orders, and plan ahead to avoid stock interruptions.

Production and labor tracking

Users can create jobs, schedule them on a timeline, and check material availability before work begins. Operators can scan materials to deplete them, clock into jobs for labor tracking, follow instructions, and log progress. Shift leads can monitor job status and view material and labor costs, which feed into profitability reporting.

Fulfillment and shipping

Digit guides users through picking (by scan or manual selection), packaging (including palletizing), and shipping. Teams can select carrier or pickup options, generate documentation, and adjust templates in settings.

Customization and API

Users can customize tables, views, and filters, add text, number, date, or dropdown custom fields to records, and store files in a centralized file manager.

While it's marketed as an ERP alternative, Digit's open API gives teams options to extend its functionality or connect with other systems (including ERPs), useful for workflows involving Digit API integrations, particularly multi-tier implementations.
